Grid Supply

From the initial concept of this project it was apparent were going to be challenged with a Grid power supply connection that would be large enough to support of site load, With and Estimated maximum demand of approximately 4MVA during events we soon learnt that this was twice the normal load of the townships of Bawley point and Kiola added together which only surge during peak holiday events at Christmas and Easter to around 3.5MVA.

Supply Enhancement

Shepherd engaged with Endeavour energy to design and install an upgraded existing 11KV feeder to Willinga park, Bawley point and Kiola as well as install a second redundant path feeder to help with increased capacity of supply as well as provide a ring feed option should maintenance or outages be encountered.

Hybrid Power Systems

  • 1.3MW of PV
  • 2,400kwh of Tesla battery storage
  • 3 x generators at 4.3MVA prime rated
  • 70,000lt containerised diesel tank, bulk oil storage, complete fuel and oil control systems, ComAp supervisory control system
  • Centralised power house with step up transformers to 960volts to allow for long distance distribution with some submain runs exceeding 2000m
  • Auto tap changing step down transformers at remote locations to reduce the 960v distribution to local 433/240v
