Shepherd Electrical were engaged by Green Light Contractors for the installation of a 10 MW battery storage facility adjacent to the existing Queanbeyan TransGrid substation QBESS project

SCOPE OF WORKS

  • Installation of Copper Earth grid including earthing bonds to steel reinforcing within the concrete slabs
  • Brazing of all copper crossovers and copper raisers to provide earthing equipotential bonds for all concrete slabs, structures, and equipment.
  • Drilling and installation of two 9m Earth rods including the supply of all materials.
  • Supply and installation of insulated 120mm2 flexible connection including Lugs and flexible braid for Gate’s earth bonding.
  • Supply and install above ground DC conduits and ancillary equipment between the Battery containers, the PCS units and cable trenches.
  • Installation, Termination, Testing and Commissioning of 11kV ac cables, other control & communication cables, and Optical Fiber network cabling.
  • VLF and Tan Delta testing of the 11 KV Cabling.
  • Supply of termination accessories including 1500V termination kits, lugs, glands, ties and markers.
  • Installation of 20m Lightning Mast, 8m CCTV Poles and Cameras, lighting poles and light fittings.
  • Installation of 1,080 batteries, approximately 140kg each, including associated BMS Modules and installation of Battery Links.
  • Installation of 16 self-contained AC Units, supply and connection of temporary power for these units to keep the batteries at a constant 22 degrees once installed.
