LOWER MOLONGLO WATER QUALIY CONTROL CENTRE
LMWQCC is the main wastewater treatment plant for the ACT and the largest inland treatment facility in Australia. Originally built in the 1970’s this important piece of infrastructure and its original power assets had come to the end of life.
Shepherd was engaged by Icon Water as Principal Contractor to renew the High Voltage Assets to a modern standard.

The project included two new 11kv supplies to the private HV network which were reticulated from utility switch stations and into the site via new overhead lines.
The scope of the project included the installation of:
- 3 x 11kv 1.5mVA Standby Generators
- 2 x 11kv Main Switchrooms
- 7 x Kiosk Substations
- 6 x Ring Main Units & Transformers
- Earth Rings
- New conduit and pit network
- All Associated civil works

Despite replacing every High Voltage Asset on the site through meticulous planning and detailed commissioning regime our team was able to complete the strategically staged shutdown program without any disruptions to the plants operations.
