An iconic landmark of Canberra since 1970, a flood of the pump room in 2015 triggered the need for major upgrades.

BUILD

Shepherd was engaged by Shaw Building Group to undertake the replacement of the existing 3.3kV motor starter panels (including protection relays), upgrade the internal pump room lighting to meet current emergency lighting standards of AS 2293, install earthing to comply with AS 2067 for High Voltage installations. The scope also included the removal of the existing submersible cables from the pump chamber to the jet donut and replacement with new 3x 24c+E steel wire armour cables. The existing control cabling from the 3.3kV motor starter panels to the two control cubicles had to be re-worked and tested when the new Schneider panels were installed.

MAINTAIN

Shepherd continues involvement with the project. Acting as the Electrical Operating Authority for the HV assets for the site and continue to support the fountains ongoing electrical maintenance needs since the completion of construction.
