Rowing for All
Red Shed by the Black Mountain Rowing Club (BMRC) focusses on recognising the transformative potential of the sport. The not for profit organisation has constructed this new facility to ensure the sport of Rowing is accessible and inclusive to all. The facility includes a boat storage, recovery suite, gym, cafe, commercial kitchen and a function space.
DESIGN & CONSTRUCT
In close collaboration with the architect and interior designer Shepherd’s inhouse engineering developed a comprehensive electrical services design to facilitate the vast inclusions and use of the building. Given the site was never intended for commercial construction and limited by a 400a supply and no gas to the site careful consideration was placed into load management.
Shepherd’s team of skilled electricians worked in closely with Builder Construction Control and finishing trades to complete functional and aesthetic outcomes.
A major feature of the project that is viewed from Lake Burley Griffin is the integrated RGB LED Strip lighting which immediately identifies the Red Shed.
Lighting is controlled via a Dali LCP and was commissioned by Shepherd’s inhouse integrator.
